a solo show by
Chandler House is pleased to be hosting Renée Rossouw’s second solo show in the Voorkamer Gallery for the month of September. In this exhibition Rossouw steps away from her well-known Afro-Modern ‘Pattern’ works and leans into an interrogation of area, space and surface. Using the genre of still life as a starting point, the artist blurs this traditional western art genre with her background of architecture and design, and it's representation of space through lines on a flat surface. Using remnants of actual objects as her material, the artist is encouraging us to re-examine the relationship between objects and materials through subject matter.
